At Somethings, a mental health platform that connects teens with Certified Peer Specialist Mentors, I explored a core tension: human connection can't be manufactured with technology, so how do we design tech that simply gets out of the way? As a part-time Lead Product Designer, I built a guided first moment experience for peer specialist mentors. The design supported mentors in engaging with teens authentically, without feeling too prescriptive or overwhelming. The work focused on the mentor dashboard, recognizing that better mentor support directly enables better teen outcomes.
